Radiometric and non-radiometric measurement

Radiometric measurement procedures work according to the principle of absorption or reflection. They use a radio-isotope that emits beta, gamma or X rays and a detector that can collect them. The material that is between the two components, provides different absorption results, depending on its properties. Difficulties can emerge because of the natural background radiation or other.

In comparison, the non-radiometrically measurement has various advantages. A radio-isotope is not necessary. Measurement procedures with ultrasonic, microwaves or laser are applied. In addition, it is not possible to detect constant effects for flat materials that change with the measurement’s frequency. The non-radiometrically measurement of MeSys GmbH offers a solution here for efficient production processes.
